Passover Seder 2002:
We Take Reservations
You are cordially invited to attend the third annual Sojourner Ministries’ Christ in the Passover Seder meal. We will be celebrating our Seder on Easter Saturday evening, March 30, 2002, from 6-9 P.M. at the Holiday Inn Select in Dallas. There is no charge for this dinner and program. It is one way our ministry can give back to you who have already given us so much.
Please call by March 25 at the latest to request a reservation for your party. Once we receive your reservation, we will send written confirmation and directions. If you have friends who would also enjoy exploring the Jewish heart of Christianity, please invite them to be our dinner guests as well.
This intimate evening is especially for you! What better time is there to celebrate our resurrection deliverance than on Easter eve?
We welcome this occasion to become better acquainted with our ministry friends. We had a remarkable time last year (see photo spread next page). We served over 500 guests from three states and two other countries! What gives us the greatest joy is reintroducing our friends, in a fresh fashion, to Jesus, our Messiah, the true Passover Lamb, the ultimate Jewish heart of Christianity.
As was last year’s Seder, this will be an occasion for many friends of Sojourner Ministries to gather together under one roof, in a relaxed, non-church atmosphere. Together we will commemorate the ancient tradition of the Passover, as did Jesus and those closest to Him. We will meet new friends, laugh together and encourage one another as we share in the unleavened bread and cup of redemption; join our voices in worship to traditional Hebrew melodies; and share the vision of Sojourner Ministries.
After the presentation, our guests will be given an opportunity to make a donation or pledge of support to strengthen and further Sojourner Ministries.
This might also be a strategic time to purchase our most popular resource, The Unleavened Messiah: A Portrait of Christ in the Passover, for your home or church library, Sunday School, Bible study, or home school group – available in video or audio format.
Please note that the ballroom can seat only a limited amount of guests. Each year our Seders have filled to capacity weeks before the date for close of reservations; consequently, there have been massive waiting lists. Last year, the waiting list was so extensive that we held a second Seder the next evening in order to accommodate everyone!
Unfortunately, a second Seder is not an option this year, so reserve your place in plenty of time. In fairness to all, please ensure the accuracy of the number in your party. Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of the event, if unable to be replaced by the waiting list, will cause this ministry financial loss. Please call 972/226-7654 no later than March 25 to reserve your place!

Jewish Heart is Focus for Dallas Theological SeminaryNewsletter
Dallas Theological Seminary’s publication, Preach the Word, interviewed Steven some time ago for a cover feature. We here reprint an excerpt.
Former student, Steve Ger, believes the lives of Christians are greatly enriched when they understand and appreciate the Jewish roots of their faith… “Jesus Christ is the Jewish heart of Christianity,” explains Steve (Th.M. 94), who credits his training at Dallas Seminary with preparing him for ministry. “I teach the Scriptures, shining a Jewish floodlight on God’s Word to help people appreciate the Jewish heritage of their faith.”
Steve knows whereof he teaches. He is a fourth‑generation Jewish believer whose ancestors came to America from the region of Russia made famous in the musical Fiddler on the Roof. The name of Steve’s ministry comes from his own last name. In Hebrew, the word “ger” means “sojourner, stranger, wanderer.”
Although Steve’s primary ministry is teaching the Jewish roots of our Christianity, he also hopes to raise up missionaries to the Jewish people by inspiring the church to reach the Jewish community with the gospel. In addition to Steve’s dynamic teaching in churches, schools, and other settings, Sojourner Ministries has produced a full-length video entitled The Unleavened Messiah: A Portrait of Christ in the Passover.
For Steve, the key to the success of Sojourner Ministries is the solid biblical and ministry foundation he received at Dallas Seminary. He cites five ways in which DTS equipped him to better fulfill God’s calling:
